What is Acrylic Render?
Acrylic render is a type of render that includes acrylic – a type of plastic – in its mix, making it more flexible and durable than traditional cement-based renders. This modern rendering solution is ideal for Australia’s diverse climates, especially in areas with extreme weather changes or surface movement.

Unlike standard cement render, acrylic render has superior adhesion, meaning it can be applied to a wide range of surfaces such as:
- Brickwork
- Concrete
- Blueboard
- Hebel blocks
- Polystyrene panels
- Painted walls
- Fibre cement sheeting
Its flexibility helps resist cracking, and its water-resistant properties make it perfect for long-term protection of your exterior walls. Acrylic render also allows the surface to breathe, reducing the risk of moisture buildup, mold, and mildew inside your walls.
How is Acrylic Render Applied?
At Rapid Rendering Company, we follow a meticulous application process to ensure a smooth, long-lasting finish:
Surface Preparation
We begin by cleaning the surface to remove dust, loose paint, or old coatings. Any cracks are repaired and primers are applied where needed.
Render Application
The acrylic render is applied using a trowel or spray gun in a thin, even coat. Depending on the substrate and project requirements, it can be applied in layers of up to 10mm without sagging or cracking.
Finishing
Once the render has been applied, we use floating and sponging techniques to achieve the desired texture—smooth, coarse, or custom finishes available. Acrylic render can also be pre-tinted to your desired colour, saving you the need for extra paint coats.
Texture & Coating
For clients opting for a texture finish, we use high-quality texture coats like Dulux Acratex, Granosite, Nutex, and MAC, providing a beautiful and protective final layer.
